On February 10th of 2017, our beloved Jay Miller went to Heaven to be with the Lord. Jay was a Christian, a devoted family man and avid outdoorsman. He was a great storyteller and often times entertained people around him with his sharp wit and great sense of humor. Most of all, Jay loved people and spent most of his time helping others.

Jay was born on June 16th of 1958 to parents Don and Shirley Miller. He grew up in Pasadena, Texas with his younger sister Gina and became an Eagle Scout in the Boys Scouts of America. He graduated from Pasadena High School in 1976, attended Texas A&M University and made many lifelong friends along the way. In 1986, he met Debra, the love of his life. She would become his wife and together, they raised Dawn Michelle. For over 30 years, Jay was a loving and dedicated husband and father. He had an immense appreciation for nature and compassion for all living things. If he wasn’t home with his wife and their dogs, he was usually enjoying the great outdoors. Jay had a heart of gold and connected with people of all ages and from all walks of life. To smile and laugh was an effortless task for Jay and he made it a daily practice to evoke both from those who surrounded him. He was a great listener and motivator. He had an exceptional ability to recognize hidden potential in others and was always willing to provide guidance and support to those around him. As a professional, Jay stood for integrity, honesty and hard-work. He mastered the art of networking and was an engaging public speaker. His personal hobbies and interests were vast including his preferences in music, movies and books. Jay was a Dallas Cowboy fan and a collector of knives, guns and many other unique artifacts. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, a patriot, and a Conservative. He was an advocate for the Wounded Warrior Project, Camp Hope and volunteered as a Gatekeeper Committeeman for the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo for several years.

Jay was preceded in death by his loving mother, Shirley (Rose) Miller. Jay was survived by his wife Debra Miller and daughter Dawn Eastridge, his father Don Miller, his sister Gina and her husband Mike Lenfest, his uncle Lanny Rose and wife Jane, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and in-laws.

Memorial services for Jay Miller will be held at the Cypress Trails United Methodist Church located at 22801 Aldine Westfield Road in Spring, Texas (77373) on Saturday, March 4th of 2017 at 10:00 AM.

Jay Miller lived a very meaningful and purposeful life. His memory will carry on in our hearts. May he rest in peace.
